Privacy Policy
Last updated October 20, 2026
PawCast is made by WORKINGORDER LLC ("we", "us"), Brooklyn, New York. This policy explains what the PawCast app collects, why, who it is shared with, how long it is kept, and how to delete it.
Your account
PawCast doesn't ask for your name, email address or a password. When you first open the app, it creates an anonymous account identified by a random ID. That ID connects your pet, settings and subscription to your phone.
What we collect
- Your pet's photo, name and type. We use these to make pictures of your pet and to write their captions. The app also stores a short description of your pet (for example "orange tabby cat") made from the photo.
- Pictures and captions made for your pet.
- Your locations. These are the cities you add, plus your phone's location if you allow it. The app reads your phone's location only while you're using it, never in the background. We use locations to get your weather and to prepare tomorrow's pictures ahead of time.
- Settings, such as your units and time zone, and when you last opened the app.
- Subscription status, such as whether you have a trial or subscription, when it ends and why. Apple or Google handles your payment. We never see your card details.
- App usage events, such as "finished onboarding" or "opened the plans screen". These help us see where people get stuck. They don't include your photo, your pet's name or your location.
Who we share it with
We share data only with the services that run PawCast, and only what each one needs:
- OpenAI receives your pet's photo, name and type. It checks that the photo shows an animal and contains nothing harmful, describes your pet, and writes captions.
- fal.ai receives your pet's photo to make the pictures.
- OpenWeather receives the city names you search for and the coordinates of your locations, so it can find cities and send back the weather.
- Supabase stores your account, pet, photos, pictures, settings and locations.
- Railway hosts our server.
- RevenueCat, together with Apple or Google, handles subscriptions. RevenueCat receives your anonymous account ID and your purchase history.
- PostHog receives the app usage events described above.
We don't sell your data, and we don't use it for advertising.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while you have a trial or subscription. After that, we delete your pet, photos, pictures, settings and locations automatically:
- 30 days after a subscription is cancelled or refunded
- 76 days after a subscription ends because a payment failed. Apple and Google keep retrying the payment for up to 60 days, so the extra time lets a recovered subscription keep its data.
- 30 days after you first open the app, if you never start a trial or subscription
After automatic deletion, we keep only your anonymous account ID and subscription record. That way, if you restore a purchase later, the app can find your account. You would then set up your pet again.
Deleting your data
You can ask us to delete your account and all of its data at any time. Email pawcastweather@gmail.com and say you'd like your data deleted. We'll delete your account, pet, photos, pictures, settings and locations within 30 days and reply to confirm.
Deleting your data does not cancel your subscription. To stop being charged, cancel in your phone's subscription settings: on iPhone, Settings → your name → Subscriptions; on Android, the Play Store app → your profile picture → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.
Security
Data travels between the app, our server and the services above over encrypted connections.
Children
PawCast is not meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child under 13 has used PawCast, email us and we'll delete the data.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we'll also let you know in the app.
